Apple-y Pigs in A Blanket
Bake Time: 12-15 minutes
Yield: 24 pieces
Ingredients
- (1) 8 oz. can of crescent roll dough
- 24 smoked cocktail franks (these are often sold as a 14 oz. package)
- 8 oz. cheese of choice (we like Gouda, Brie, or sharp cheddar)
- 1 apple (we like EverCrisp®, Honeycrisp, or Pink Lady)
- Optional: egg wash, honey mustard for dipping
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375º F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the can of dough. Cut each roll into three triangles to yield 24 pieces of dough. If the pieces are too thin, use a rolling pin to stretch the triangles slightly.
- Slice cheese and apples to the same thickness (about ¼ in. thick).
- Layer a slice of cheese, an apple slice, and a cocktail frank on the wide end of the dough triangle. Roll tightly and repeat with each dough triangle.
- Arrange on baking sheet, leaving about 1 in. between each roll. Brush with egg wash before baking for 12-15 minutes, depending on desired brownness. Serve with honey mustard.
